Parking difficulty is generally greater with large vehicles, so it should be a consideration when choosing from among your vehicle options. Finding parking and complying with local parking regulations are constant concerns of vehicle nomads; if you own a vehicle type with higher parking difficulty, expect to park farther from your desired destination.
High vehicle clearance (the overall vehicle height) can limit the places you can park, especially for parking garages.
Vehicles that appear to be commercial in nature, especially larger trucks, may be prohibited entirely on certain streets or in certain neighborhoods or districts. High gross vehicle weight can also be a limiting factor, since some streets or bridges disallow heavy vehicles.
In the U.S., standard parking spaces are 18 feet long and 8½ to 9 feet wide.
