A setpoint is a configured number stored in a device, such as a solar charge controller, converter, or DC-DC charger. The device behavior is guided by setpoints, which may or may not be configurable by the user.
The two most important setpoints for battery life and battery performance are charging voltages: Absorption voltage and Float voltage.
