Safe parking lots are special parking lots that are explicitly designated for overnight camping. They are available in a very limited number of cities, typically those with a larger than average population of unhoused individuals. While they can be a good spot to find parking for the night, they often turn into slum-like encampments unless they are extremely well managed by the host city.
In exchange for a parking space, some lots may require your personal information or may require you to sign up for programs.[1]
