Moveable beds

From Nomad Life Wiki
A murphy bed in a partially-built cargo van

Moveable beds include beds that do not transform or collapse in any way, but are either tilted vertically against the wall or lifted up horizontally to the van ceiling with an electric or manual lift. Moveable beds are a decent compromise between a convertible and a fixed bed, but they do add to the complexity and cost of a build. Moveable beds are similar to convertible beds, with the difference that moveable beds lift to the ceiling or fold against the wall and convertible beds fold or change shape.

Elevator beds (also known as bed lifts) are a type of moveable bed that can be lifted up to the vehicle ceiling when not in use. This is one method to get additional use out of the limited space in a vehicle, but it does add some cost and complexity to the build. Murphy beds are a type of moveable bed that can be folded up against a wall when not in use. This is one method to get additional use out of the limited space in a vehicle, but it does add some cost and complexity to the build. These are sometimes called pull-down beds, fold-down beds, or wall beds.
