Water tank size
Smaller commercially-built motorhomes typically have 30-50 gallon tanks. Larger Class A motorhomes may have 100 gallon tanks. The size you need depends on your style of camping or living.
Water tank positioning
When planning your build, keep in mind that water weighs 8.345 pounds per gallon (1 kg per liter). This weight can add up fast, so water tanks (and batteries or other heavy objects) should ideally be placed lower to the ground and either over or just in front of the rear axle.
