Tailgate kitchens are kitchens built into the tailgate of a vehicle or trailer for use when cooking outdoors, usually at a campsite. They are commonly added to SUVs, minivans, and teardrop trailers, but a kitchen added to a hatchback or other rear door could be considered a tailgate kitchen.
Tailgate kitchens may be part of a removable build.
Some tailgate kitchens are built as large chuck boxes, where the entire cabinet can be removed and set on a picnic table to allow for additional room to work.
