
Medical care can be a special challenge for those living nomadically.
Medications
If you rely on medications (prescription or OTC), you should have no problem getting them if you live nomadically. Ongoing medication needs are not necessarily a disqualifier for the lifestyle.
- If you need refrigerated meds like insulin, you can use 12v compressor fridges to keep meds cold. See Refrigeration.
- Power systems can run CPAP quite well.
- If you use a major chain pharmacy like Walmart, CVS, or Walgreens, you should be able to pick up your prescriptions at any location.
- If you need frequent refills, you can have meds shipped to the closest post office and pick it up as General Delivery. See Managing your mail.
- For those in the U.S., medication is often much cheaper across the border in Mexico or Canada.

- For U.S. Veterans, the VA has a Traveling Veteran program
- For those in the U.S., medical/dental services are often much cheaper outside the US. Search for "medical tourism" options.
